A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

Welcome to Kids Cave Child Care! My name is Shudonna Cheatom and I am a mom of two. I have a 6 year old daughter, Hazel and a 2 year old son, Savion. My dreams of owing a daycare emerged way before the thought of my kids. I have been surrounded by daycare my whole life. My mom started her very own daycare within our house when I was only five years old. After years of her home daycare, she transitioned to a center called Kiddie Kastle Child Care. That is where my love for kids began to take place. I have over 8 years of daycare experience. Within those years, I have worked in daycare, attended College to receive my Associate Degree, and owned a group daycare called Magical Learning Kingdom. After being in business for 3 years, my mom got devastating news, she had stage 2 Breast Cancer. We made a very tough decision to close down the daycare to focus on her health. Fast forward, now 4 years later she is cancer free and I am on my journey to fulfill my dreams.

          Here at Kids Cave, I intend for it to be different from the normal “day care”. I want my Kids Cave friends to fill safe, free, and comfortable while they are here. Kids Cave will be your child(ren) home away from home, hence the name KIDS CAVE! The environment will always be filled with love, compassion, and understanding, all the things a child needs in order to thrive. I never want any of my friends to feel like they are at “work” or dread coming into Daycare. That is why, every day here at Kids Cave we stick to a routine versus a schedule. Our Daily Plan allows us to follow this habit. That way nothing is pushed upon our friends, the learning, activities, the songs, the playing, is all created naturally AND that is what I call a productive day!
